Just got word that Jim passed away last night.He was one of the good guys in knifing. HE will be sorely missed.May God bless his soul. ::pray::He was an icon of our hobby.

I've known Jim since the mid 70's, he was truly a gentleman.

So sorry to hear this. He was all those things posted above. Super nice guy who was always willing to share his knowledge. He was asset to our knifin' community. RIP Jim. Comfort to Gina and the rest of the family. ::pray::

Very sad news to hear that this true gentleman and credit to our hobby has passed. He has given so much to us as collectors and I will remember him with the fondness and kindness he so well deserves. RIP Jim Sargent.

A sad day indeed in the knife world. A man who gave us so much and loved every minute of it. He will be missed. May he rest in everlasting bliss.

Great man with a lot of Knowledge on Knives . Will be missed by all . Set up at a lot of Show through the years with him never saw him set down at a show and he always had time for you with a question are just to say hello. His Family is the same way good people. Know Gene will be glad to see him .

I doubt I would have gotten hooked on knives had it not been for Jim's guidance and knowledge.

I cannot recall the number of times Jim gave me the money to buy a prized knife from another dealer at a show after I had expended all my cash.

He once sent me a shoe box full of Robeson Barlow knives. I picked out what I wanted, sent back the rest and the money.

Jim was a pilot at Oakridge Nuclear Research Facility back in the day. Quit that to buy and sale knives full time.

He was a prince of a man.

Saw him at The Blade Show. He did not look well.

Jim Sargent was more than a friend to me. He was my mentor in this hobby. Jim was a special person and will be missed by everyone who knew him. RIP Jim.
