I wish people on ebay and elsewhere(german eye congress, aapk) would quit listing plastic handle knives as pearl-or mop-I buy and sell-keeping the pearls- easy to tell apart-but must go through 100s of knives to find a real one...over half of pearls listed on ebay are plastic- james buzz parker(silverladdie) has gone to calling his oyster shell-good idea with all of the misrepresentation-mark"alabama"wilson...

Early last year AG Russell said he was going to maybe produce a new scout pattern during 2017. It never happened but I'd still like to see him do it especially if it's American made with some sort of special blade steel.

I'm not chasing any pattern at the moment.
This is because whenever I express interest in a knife one of you guys sends me one of them, or even two, and the two that would have been on my wish list this year are already on the way, before I had time to order either one of them myself. ::super_happy::
So this year I'll be using, instead of wishing, at least for a while.

I believe I want a Steve Jernigan Custom Folder!

I have "THE" prototype he made for the Schrade - Jernigan Collaboration in 2004 and I also have a Bear & Son - Jernigan auto collaboration. This year I believe I will buy one of his "One of a Kind" customs

That's my 2018 Knife

Well Boys, I'm BUSTIN'!
I just won this one. This has been one of my grail knives for about 9 years. In that time I've only seen two up for sale, and I missed them both. FINALLY got this one. Can't wait for it to arrive! [ this was made circa 1908-1928 ]

I really would like to get only one knife and I know it will likely never happen as I would have to mortgage my home to get it. That would be ANY folder made by Heinrich Frank. Saw one of his ivory handled folders with gold liners and bolsters about 30 years ago for $5000 and would have bought it in a heartbeat. I could probably buy a new Cadillac for it would cost today. ::facepalm::

I typically go after something that just appeals to me with no particular pattern or brand, but this year I think I will be on the look out for a Schatt & Morgan carpenter's whittler and possibly a Case 5355 whittler. I've been wanting those two for a while now and some unexpected funds coming my way might just make it happen. Ken

Ferg, are you talking about one that doesn't cost as much as a set of new tires?
