My collection has 32 different brands:
12 brands with just 1 knife (some were bought with "intent to carry", and see next comment about brands and patterns)
15 brands with between 2 and 5 knives (these are mostly old brands (Robeson, Union, Miller Bros, etc) in patterns I collect (Cattle, Cigar, Hunter, etc.)
2 brands with between 6 and 10 knives (Schrade, Northwoods)
3 brands with over 10 knives (Case, Remington, GEC)

I have 3 brands with 35+ knives of each . Case, Empire and Camillus. The rest of my knives,about 65 represents 37 brands from very old to brand new so that would be 40 brands for me.
