Found Knife! Need info please!

Post by djackson5656 »

Hello all,

Recently while moving my parents I found a knife I haven't saw in years that we own. It is a Gerber fixed blade knife in great shape. After some simple internet research it looks very similar to the Gerber MK 2 Presidential edition Knifes. There are some differences though, for instance mine does not have the custom etching. As of now I just have the longer knife, but I know we have the walnut box and there is a smaller matching dagger as well, I just haven't located those two things yet. I guess i'm just wondering what I really have here. Any knowledge anyone could share would be greatly appreciated. Please see attached pics.

DJackson,

Your knife is a Mark II and is part of a set called, "The President's Collection". The set included your Mark II and a Mark I (the smaller knife) in a walnut presentation case. The set also included a card describing the set, and signed by Pete Gerber.

The presentation series was made with wood handles, wood handles with engraved guards and pommels, stag handles (like yours), and stag handles with engraved guards and pommels.

In my opinion, they were the prettiest knives Gerber ever made.

I hope you locate the rest of your set.

Thank you so much for the info Mark! The serial number on the knife is 0107. The hunt begins Saturday for the rest of set. I will be sure to update. Thank you all for the info again!
