"no wear on the blade"

Post by Lansky1 »

more eBay comics ... "no wear on blade". It started life as a 6107W - it must have been loved by somebody to have that much wear on a wharncliffe blade

He says he doesn't know what type of blade it is; must be a rare,"Dukhook" blade.

Sent him a polite heads up and included an image of a factory original 6107 W. It will be interesting to see the response, if there is a response.

The description's probably just missing some punctuation. It happens. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Technically, the reshaped blade is probably the result of "grinding" instead of "wear" :). I wonder if someone was trying to make the blade look like a duck bill. ::shrug:: It's hard to imagine that this happened unintentionally.

This is the message I sent and the image I included.

In an effort to help you maintain your 100% Positive feedback, I offer this. This knife left the factory with a Wharncliffe blade. (denoted by the 'W' in the model #). Due to sharpening over time or maybe even intentional re-profiling the blade, it has ended up with 80% plus blade loss. Thought you would like to know.

Attached is an image of a factory original 6107 W.

I hope this has been of some help. Thank you for your time. Good luck with your auction.

Thanks Mike. There's no point in getting nasty about it. That just makes folks dig in their heels and respond in kind. Treat them with respect and (most of the time) they will reciprocate. Of course there are those who will be offended no matter how nicely you put it. ::shrug:: If it brays like a jackass and has long ears like a jackass then it must be a jackass. Just walk on down the road because there's no way you can change a jackass into a bunny rabbit. Don't let the long ears fool you into trying.
