Lots of great knives in both threads .

Re: Favorite under 3 inches...
This thread started just as I was doing some serious research into peanuts, the Case peanut being one of the longest running American slipjoints (info from knifeaholic). These are some of my smallies but I slipped in the GEC easy open because it's just 3" but my fav of the lot.
The CRKT shrimp is a frame lock and a shrimp only in size, not strength.
The GEC easy open is just flawless and also the Opinel, for its size. Of course I have a few penknives, but they are in a category of their own.
Actually, in this thread the #18 coyote is my fav, probably because it's so close to my GCE.
The A.G.Russell is in VG 10 steel with ironwood slabs, tough knife but a small spring. The CRKT shrimp is a frame lock and a shrimp only in size, not strength.

That Craftsman 95201 Pen is really a nice knife.OLDE CUTLER wrote:SOME GREAT PICTURES OF SOME small KNIVES! I only have a few and I haven't carried one in quite some time, like some of the other commenters have mentioned. I think in my case it's because as I have gotten older the hands are not as fluid in handling small things, knives included. I would rather have a 4 1/4" stockman or such for ease of gripping.

Re: Favorite under 3 inches...
Believe it or not I bought that Craftsman at a flea market for $2.50. The Imperial SS and the Uncle Henry Jr. stockman have special significance for me because my mom gave me the Uncle Henry for my birthday a couple of years before she passed away and my dad used the Imperial SS to open mail withJohn Carter wrote:That Craftsman 95201 Pen is really a nice knife.OLDE CUTLER wrote:SOME GREAT PICTURES OF SOME small KNIVES! A lot of very nice small knives posted so far! Here are 3 Keen Kutters, from top to bottom: 2 3/8", 2 9/16" and 2 5/8". I also have a couple of peanuts some where. I used to quite frequently carry a Case yellow peanut, have had a few but usually end up giving them away.

USA Parker pen knife - it's very slim and compact. It's my favorite dress knife when I can't carry a larger knife ...

Re: Favorite under 3 inches...
Here's my contribution to the sub-3" category, in fact it's under 2" if we're counting blade length rather than handle length. The blade is 45mm = 1.7 inches and the handle 56mm = 2.2 inches.
Back in the 80s Mum accompanied Dad on an engineering conference in the US, for some reason the company Pietro Rosa TBM gave out folding knives to everyone:
It's an Italian company so only fitting that it's made by the CEM knife co. in Maniago, Italy:
By the end of the trip Mum had forgotten about the knife and went through US customs with it in her hand luggage. It set off the alarm of course, but despite an intensive search they couldn't find anything and let her through. She discovered it in a small side pocket in the bag two years later.Re: Favorite under 3 inches...
Haven't looked at this thread in a while.

Not my knife. Belongs to my cousin. He picked it up on one of his Hawaiian vacations.

I'll contribute the Case 62027 1/2 small sleeveboard which measures 2 3/4" closed. This picture was also posted in the "matching pairs" thread.
