Congrats to mason and btrwtr - The Bowie Hunter in Knife Magazine Oct 2017

Post by LongBlade »

Big congratulations to Neal Punchard (Mason) and Wayne Robertson (btrwtr) for writing that wonderful article on the American Bowie Hunter Knives in the new issue of Knife Magazine!! For me it was extremely informative, great examples of these knives in the photographs and in my opinion really filled a gap for anyone interested in these knives where the pattern style was making the transition from the original Bowies in the mid 1800s to the hunter fixed blades of today… The article did a great job discussing many aspects and for many I am sure clarified the evolution… Nice bit of info on old sheaths as well… again a super nice article… ::tu:: ::tu:: ... (PS – This article motivated me to get out my LF&C Bowie Hunter with nice stag with tube sheath as well :D

We have been on a real “roll” here on AAPK in getting some articles published in Knife Magazine this year – at least one article in last 3 out of 4 issues from an AAPK member (or members)… and I know for a fact in the past years other members from this site had even other articles!!

Best to you both !!
Lee

Is "Knife Magazine" online ? Or is there a way to read this article without having a copy of Oct. 2017 "Knife Magazine" ?
I have not ever seen this publication available in Canada.

Roland, here is a link to Knife World Publications. They will mail Knife Magazine to you in Canada if you order a subscription. I probably won't get my Oct issue for a couple of weeks yet.

I just finished reading this article and came away quite impressed with both the research that had been done, and the clear presentation of the information. Neal and Wayne have a work they can be proud of and have created a useful reference for both the novice and the seasoned collector. Well done guys. ::tu::

Roland,

Don't order it! In appreciation for the opportunity to buy some of your beauties and for some of the deals you've offered me I'd like to order your subscription. If you've already ordered it I'll reimburse it. PM me.
