Lost a good fishing lure

Post by SteelMyHeart85420 »

Went to a nice State Park with my lady-friend this weekend, an errant cast sent my Cotton Cordell Wally Diver into a tree :x While grumbling and looking for an easy way to retrieve it, I looked down and found my newest knife (that someone else lost/ set down on the bank and forgot about). A Gerber 4660616A, 3" closed w/ pocket clip. Not something I'd buy for myself, but, it helped ease the pain of leaving my lure up inna tree.... Couldn't find any listing on EvilBay for this knife, and I don't expect it to have a great deal of value, but curious what it originally sold for. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

I have one just like it. I think I bought it for $9.95 from Bass Pro Shops during a Christmas sale. It's a good little knife. I've had it for 4 years now.

Thanks for the quick feedback, Mike. I guess it's about what I figured it'd be. Too small for my liking, but, it can go in the tackle box, right where my Wally Diver should have been ::groove::

If you aren't losing lures, you aren't casting where the fish are.

When I'm bank fishing I keep a folding pruning saw and a pair of pruning shears with me - so far I have retrieved all my lures, but came real close to taking a dunk once! I haven't found a knife yet though. OH

That knife is a pretty good consolation prize. I well know the pain of losing a good lure to a tree. Last time that happened to me was a couple of months ago when bass fishing out of my kayak on a small river. I had just switched rods ( I carry a couple) and the first cast I made I threw a nip-i-diddee about ten feet up into a tree. The tree was hanging over the water and the water was pretty fast and deep, so there was no getting that one back. I have to scour Ebay to find nip-i-diddees, so I really hate leaving one.

Gerber Mini Paraframe is what it looks like. While fishing recently, I found an old 1950s or before Coke bottle with Norton, VA cast on the bottom, which was just a few miles below where I was, which is still a Coke facility, albeit they're just a distributor, not a bottler. What's surprising is that although scuffed, it's intact.

That's good advice, but, certainly would have been frowned on in the State Park....they're awful fussy about their trees
