We`re hoping to receive them by the weekend or at least some of them. There is a picture on GEC`s home page of one of the finished bone.I think they look pretty good. The etch is a copy of an original from the 30`s.We have had a large amount of interest from folks seeing the production photos on the GEC site.

I would like to see a good picture of the jigged bone handle one. The pics at GEC of the jigged bone make it look dull somehow. I hope it's the pictures because i want this knife to speak to me.

These photos seem to show the jigging pattern on the M&G antique bone fairly well:

Those are the pics i was referring to. The jigging seems unique as i have not seen this style before. The brown as it shows in the picture so far isn't speaking to me. I'm looking forward to seeing pictures posted here by the new owners, maybe in a week or two.

The pics of the knife in finishing don't show the jigging very well but do pick up the light in a way that makes the hue of the bone very attractive to me. YMMV, of course, but I'm almost certain I'm going to eschew the more "classic" ebony moose for one in this bone. I'll try to get a pic uploaded quickly after I get it.

The bone looks much better, more attractive in the picture you just posted. Maybe the earlier pics were before a polishing ?
I would like to see a pic of both ebony & bone, one over the other, to help me decide.
I have a Queen made Winchester Swell Center Moose in ebony that Billy at Vintage Knives had made, so i might want to go bone for the GEC M&G knife.

I am quite sure the "barrel" pics (for lack of a better word) were much earlier in the finishing process, so it does stand to reason that a buff and perhaps even a sanding or two occurred. The jigging in the latter photos didn't look nearly as uniformly "robotic" as the earlier ones, I think they really may have nailed their attempt at an "antique" bone that fits a M&G knife.

There's a finished gabon ebony knife on a (the?) previous page in this thread. It looks nice, "right", but I'm kinda excited about the bone knives.
