Vintage Lever Ended knives & Pellet knives?
Re: Vintage Lever Ended knives & Pellet knives?
The lever ended and pellet knives are very cool and have not seen many in hand ...
LT - Canal street made some great quality knives
Dimitri - That is one awesome cigar cutter I do have to ask - What does "patent" refer to - patent as in "patenting an invention" or "patent" as in approved by royalty or neither ???.... I ask because that old quill I have shown before with a GcrownR (this one being King George II-IV & pre-1830 and not King George V of the 1900s) had only the word "patent" stamped underneath it - and I have been trying to figure out what it means ...

He made a great version for sure! I have had two bone ones myself. One a 'PROTOTYPE' I trade for two vintage ring turns on here. I think I sold the other one. These always sell for a high amount it seems. Nice set of knives there!lt632ret wrote:I posted some pellets ect at the beginning of this thread. I thought that since you mention ring turns I would add these which were made for a short time by Canal Street Cutlery. There were not a lot of runs of these. Especially the mother of pearl model. They introduced the resurrection of the ring turn at a shot show a few years back . Dave Swinden who had been around since Schrade made them had the knowledge and ability to make this variation. Of course Dave is gone and so is Canal street so there will not be any more of these. LT

Just scored a unique little lever ended knife, from one of my UK sellers. $64.00 plus $13.00 shipping. (not bad for this rare knife!)
Antique Greco 27 Sloane square, Lever open twin blade knife.
I will post my own photos once it crossed the pond... Nice uncracked celluloid!

Nice example, and nice pearl!
I’m late to the party also. Here’s one I’ve posted before elsewhere, an old Rather & Co. “grooming” knife that has both pellets and levers. The small pen has a pellet, while the earwax spoon and the tortoise shell toothpick are lever opening. Another interesting feature is the “half” nail nick opener on the scissors and the button hook.
