ReHandling

Post by Drukai »

Don't know if their is a spot this post may need to be moved too if so move it! So I recently bought a case mini trapper with synthetic white bone, I absouletly love this knife. Carry it quite often but just imagining how nice it would look with real white jigged bone handle covers :lol: and maybe a bit of file work! Just asking if you all know anyone that does any custom work like this or could point me in the right direction Thanks a lot

There are several here that do that kind of work. They'll probably be contacting you soon.

I do that kind of work, but it will be six months before I will be taking new orders.

I have a lot of work already in my shop that I need to get completed before I take any more orders. For once I would like to be totally caught up before I take any more orders! Too much time in the hospital last year left me way behind, but I’m feeling much better so perhaps it will take quite that long.

I am in a similar situation as Dale. I have about a 4-5 month lead time right now. You may want to check with Randy (Goldpan).

There are others here that do that type of work, but they probably have a similar leadtime.

Drukai usually the cost of a rehandle is about $40 plus the cost of the handle materials. SMKW has a brand new mini trapper in chestnut bone for $46. ::hmm::

The cost is not a issue I just think this knife would look great in white jigged bone. If anyone wants to put my on their list I would love to have the work done!

I would like to get on a list for a rehandle on my Case..this is my first time doing this not sure how to go about it? Will PayPal half the cost upfront and send handle covers? then knife when your time frees up. Just let me if anyone is up for getting some work, would really appreciate it Thanks.

Paul I can do it for you no problem, but just to forewarn you if white bone isn't stabilized it tends to pick up buffing compound and you wind up with what looks like pepper spots throughout the handle. Some folks like it, others not so much. Shoot me an email;
