I sure like that one Wade! OH
Deep in the guts of most men is buried the involuntary response to the hunter's horn, a prickle of the nape hairs, an acceleration of the pulse, an atavistic memory of his fathers, who killed first with stone, and then with club...Robert Ruark

Thanks guys. It's one of my top favorites.
To tell the truth I haven't seen a single one on this thread that I wouldn't be proud to own.

Yet another Stockman fan here and I have several made in Germany ... without exception all are well made high quality knives, even the ones that were obviously made for a mass (Working Man/ Farmer) market.

No offense intended to you stockman groupies but I am not a fan of the pattern at all (even though I have some) The Puma Big Five series caught my eye back in the very late '90s and it turned out to be my first collection.
Is this 4 blade Henckels considered a stockman???

If we were worried about being offended there would be a "safe space" section on the forumjerryd6818 wrote:No offense intended to you stockman groupies but I am not a fan of the pattern at all (even though I have some)
Joking aside your big 5 collection is very nice. The 4 blade is definitely a stockman, a pretty unique and interesting one at that.

Re: German Stockman Knives
Thanks for the comments folks ...
One H Boker & CO's shown in my earlier post with 3 other bone knives that 'could' very well have come out of the same factory although branded differently
Top to bottom H Boker & CO's ... Frolbertz ... Whale Brand ... I Cut My Way
And bottom left a Henry Boker with horn scales and a pick and tweezers set.

Re: German Stockman Knives
Very good thread and I particularly love the old Eye Brands.
I wonder, does anyone but me assume that the ones with round shields all come out of the Olbertz plant?

I found two more, if you can believe a moose is a stockman (got that one from one of our own, north of here).
Hey! Where was this one hiding?

Re: German Stockman Knives
Great German knives, guys! They all blow away my humble offerings, so skip past this post if you are a connoisseur. These are my only German stockman knives, and the big Hunter's Stockman seems to have taken a powder - I had to piece the pic together from a pair of older ones...
