Sweaty fat wood!
Not there. But earlier in the week we were at Beaver Creek SP in Ohio. Brandy and I walked real close up on aBald sitting in a blow down along the creek. Was super KOOL!!

It's so hot here, even the fatwood is sweating....
Thanks Scott.. I did not know that Fatwood would do that.. Does it catch fire better like that??
John
Don't know.....I bet it wood though!!
Fellers, what you are saying about the pine fat wood is right on track. It is very common to see lighter wood with beads of pure pine tar on the roots and even some old fence posts when the weather gets hot. I don't know if the composition of the "tar" is different after being "dead" so many years as it was when the turpentine industry was a big thing in the South. "Naval Stores" was another name for the once booming turpentine business. The Naval part goes back to the days of the sailing ships that had so much need for the pine resin.

Not technically in the wild but the bowl is full of things from the wild, a beaver chewed stick, shells and agates. I love the way the ray of sun was hitting the agate so found some knives to put with it.
