Lockback hunting knives from various makers. OH
Deep in the guts of most men is buried the involuntary response to the hunter's horn, a prickle of the nape hairs, an acceleration of the pulse, an atavistic memory of his fathers, who killed first with stone, and then with club...Robert Ruark

Re: Knives in the Wild
John, the Ice Age Trail is a 1000 mile hiking trail entirely within the state of Wisconsin that highlights the state's glacial heritage. It winds all around the state, in and out of State forests and public land. The portion of it that I was on today was in the southern unit of the Kettle Moraine State Forest. ( kettles are large depressions left from melting glacial ice, and moraines are the surrounding hills...)jmh58 wrote:KOOL pics Mike!! Tell me more about that Ice Age sign.. Thanks.. John

Re: Knives in the Wild
I get out there as often as I can John! The section I was on today is about 20 miles from my house. I have other stomping grounds that are closer, but not quite as scenic...or maybe just scenic in a different way. I just enjoy solitude in the outdoors wherever I can find itjmh58 wrote:Thank You Mike.. Sounds really KOOL.. Do you hike there often?? Wade,
I believe you're going to wear that thing, you just got it and didn't even give it time to get acclimatized! What that thing sittin' on the fence just east of your new prize? Looks like a pith helmet to me.
Glad you're enjoyin' your new Treebrand!

Lol, I think it might take a day or two longer to wear it out. I hope!treefarmer wrote:Wade,

You are correct sir, that is a straw pith helmet. I started wearing it with my bee veil and the doggone thing is just so cool and comfortable in the hot weather, and keeps the sun off mag face, that I started wearing it to do yard work. I've been using the weed trimmer today so out came the pith helmet.

Re: Knives in the Wild
Very nicely staged photos jmh58. I particularly like the play of light and shadow in the first photo with the two knives thrust into the greenery.
