If you'd stop scooping up ALL the good Scout knives Mike ::shrug:: you might be able to fund a trip to Oregon sooner rather than later plus leave a few spoils for us peasants to bid on ::handshake::

I'll put you down for one Dave. This is going to be my first knife show...I'll be the one all wide eyed and grinning like a kid in a candy store.
I'll bring the knife rolls to the supper on Saturday.

I just spoke with Scott (MountainMan) and he will be there. He and his wife + one will join us for dinner as well.

Looks like we may have a knife party!

I am out of here on Thursday morning. Just got the news letter and Dennis or whoever penned the April 2017 show update says "We will have it all at this year's spectacular 371 table all knife show". WOW this is going to be fun ::nod:: Got my camera ready. Will try to have some photos up Friday evening of the set up and Saturday/Sunday if I can get to it before I return. Lloyd

It’s usually around 350 tables give or take a few, I’m glad there will be more tables this year.

In 2006 they had 520 tables at the show. The building the knife show is in is one of those made so that they can partition it off in different sizes. As a matter of fact when I graduated from NCU about 2003 they had the commencement exercises in part of the same area where the knife show is held. The 2006 show was considerably bigger and they had two or three smaller sections in addition to the large room they usually have. As I recall a lot of the additional tables were displays that people had set up for the show. That was my first or second time to the OKCA show and I was kind of blown away! It was like KNIFE SHOCK & AWE! I think the next year I decided to get my own table.

Doug,
It is really cool that you get to see your first knife show and that it such a good one!
One of the main things in knife show etiquette: don’t drool on the knives before you buy them!

Gee Whiz...you mean they don't have sneeze guards like on the salad bars at those fancy buffets?

Best wishes to all the fortunate folks that are heading to the Oregon Knife Show. It is about this time each year i regret not being in the US for this auspicious occasion.
I do enjoy all the pics and chatter on this site leading up to and following this big week-end. Oregon is like a magnet in the world of pocket knives in the USA, and next week-end it is all happening.
My friend Doug Webber will be there with enormous expectations of what is about to unfold in front of him.
Have fun guys,
Tony.

My flight to Oregon leaves in the morning but I won't get there in time to make the show tomorrow. I'll be there Saturday morning and hope to take it all in. Man I'm looking forward to this trip! Gonna finally get to meet Dale face to face after years of phone calls. The AAPK dinner on Saturday evening should be a great time too, and I hope to meet several more of my AAPK brothers there. Just think, all that and knives out the wazoo to boot! ::ds::

Here's a few shots I took at todays show. It is a big knife show and there was a sizable crowd there to take it in.

I got to meet a couple of my personal knife heroes, Mr. Ed Holbrook who wrote the book on collecting Official Scout Knives, and Jay Parker, former star of "Knives Live" television.

There were several very interesting displays set up for everyone to view.

I even met a few of AAPKs finest there but those pictures will come later. Great show and a great day. Now I got to get ready for the AAPK banquet.

We had an AAPK dinner at the Ocean Sky Chinese Resturant. We had 18 people at the dinner including wives and family members. I think that were11 registered AAPK members at dinner.
I think this it's the largest off line meeting of AAPK members.
We have pics, but I need to get home and download them so I can post them.

Needless to say, we had FUN!!! ::ds:: ::tu:: ::super_happy:: ::clapping:: ::rotflol::

Many thanks for the pics Phil, they were great. I had been hanging out for info on the Show.

The dinner must have been sensational Dale. I am hanging out for some of the story's from Doug. I really miss that sort of communication. Continue to enjoy being there.

Shots at the show with Barry from Gunstock Jacks, Derrick Bohn from KSF, Charlie Compangna, Orvet and Philco from right here at AAPK. Great show, excellent exhibits, couple bargain GEC's I picked up, a Krusius Solingen Gobernador and great people everywhere, kind, courteous, friendly and happy vendors and crowds.
