Here's a few shots I took at todays show. It is a big knife show and there was a sizable crowd there to take it in.

I got to meet a couple of my personal knife heroes, Mr. Ed Holbrook who wrote the book on collecting Official Scout Knives, and Jay Parker, former star of "Knives Live" television.

There were several very interesting displays set up for everyone to view.

I even met a few of AAPKs finest there but those pictures will come later. Great show and a great day. Now I got to get ready for the AAPK banquet.

We had an AAPK dinner at the Ocean Sky Chinese Resturant. We had 18 people at the dinner including wives and family members. I think that were11 registered AAPK members at dinner.
I think this it's the largest off line meeting of AAPK members.
We have pics, but I need to get home and download them so I can post them.

Needless to say, we had FUN!!! ::ds:: ::tu:: ::super_happy:: ::clapping:: ::rotflol::

Many thanks for the pics Phil, they were great. I had been hanging out for info on the Show.

The dinner must have been sensational Dale. I am hanging out for some of the story's from Doug. I really miss that sort of communication. Continue to enjoy being there.

Shots at the show with Barry from Gunstock Jacks, Derrick Bohn from KSF, Charlie Compangna, Orvet and Philco from right here at AAPK. Great show, excellent exhibits, couple bargain GEC's I picked up, a Krusius Solingen Gobernador and great people everywhere, kind, courteous, friendly and happy vendors and crowds.

He had it priced at $1,999.00 Not that bad really. There were a bunch of knives that were included. Not quite sure how many but the number 52 popped into my head. There were several knives in boxes in the bottom drawer that don't show in the picture.

Various handmade, some very nice packaging followed by Philco and last Steve Goddard and his spouse. Lots of AAPKers there. And one huge bunch of very nice folks. Thanks OKCA.
I think there were a Hundred thousand or so knives, probably more. I am going to not walk for a few days.

Here are a few pics of AAPK members.
I will post some more pcs of the dinner later, but I am going to bed real soooon!
We did have 11 AAPK members and 18 people total at the AAPK dinner. I got lousy pics, but will post them later.
Hopefully Photoshop will clean them up some.

This is Friday morning while I was setting up. Mossdancer beat a lot of the table holders to the show! ::tu::

Being a native Oregonian and not traveling often to the eastern side of the country the only knife shows I have been to are here in Oregon. The OKCA show, the OKCA many show and the Blade Show West, which was held in Portland Oregon for two or three years before they canceled it.

Not having attended shows in other locations I am used to the crowds at the OKCA show. Phil commented on how many people were there compared to many of the shows he had attended back east, with the exception of the Blade Show in Atlanta; which he says is well attended.

I thought I would post a few pictures that were taken right around my table so that you could get an idea of the number of people it passed by in a days time. I believe these pictures were all taken on Saturday, April 8.

While this is a really bad picture of Moss it does show you the distance between the tables when there are no people there. This was taken shortly after 10 AM on Friday morning. You have to stand outside until 10 AM before they open the door so you can set up your tables. This is probably 10:20 AM or 10:30 AM Friday. It is not mandatory for dealers to set up the tables on Friday. The fellow next to me on the left works on Fridays. So he gets there early Saturday morning and sets up.
20170407_130625.jpg
This is looking down the same direction as in the previous picture. This is looking toward the front door from my table. I caught the top of Phil’s head in the picture. This is Saturday morning before it got too busy.
20170408_111910.jpg
Some pictures of the Saturday afternoon crowd.

20170408_111931.jpg
This will give you a little idea of the number of people that came to the show, and how busy it is.
The traffic flow was about like this from 10 AM to 4 PM on Saturday. Sunday the traffic was maybe a little later but we were only open for six hours and traffic was heavy for four or five hours. It really is an amazing show!
I thought all knife shows with this busy until Phil commented on how busy it was. I made several good sales in the last hour of the show on Sunday. My wife also took several pictures. I will see if I can get them from her and post them if the better than the ones I took. The lighting in the show is not great for picture taking. ::nod::

The service was a little on the slow side so we took pictures while waiting on our waitress to show up.

To all you lucky guys that attended the Show, you were very fortunate to see so many amazing knife displays.
Many thanks to all that posted pics to appease the unfortunate blokes like me that didn't get there. From all accounts it was a huge success. I know my mate Doug Webber is still smiling.
