Being a native Oregonian and not traveling often to the eastern side of the country the only knife shows I have been to are here in Oregon. The OKCA show, the OKCA many show and the Blade Show West, which was held in Portland Oregon for two or three years before they canceled it.

Not having attended shows in other locations I am used to the crowds at the OKCA show. Phil commented on how many people were there compared to many of the shows he had attended back east, with the exception of the Blade Show in Atlanta; which he says is well attended.

I thought I would post a few pictures that were taken right around my table so that you could get an idea of the number of people it passed by in a days time. I believe these pictures were all taken on Saturday, April 8.

While this is a really bad picture of Moss it does show you the distance between the tables when there are no people there. This was taken shortly after 10 AM on Friday morning. You have to stand outside until 10 AM before they open the door so you can set up your tables. This is probably 10:20 AM or 10:30 AM Friday. It is not mandatory for dealers to set up the tables on Friday. The fellow next to me on the left works on Fridays. So he gets there early Saturday morning and sets up.

This is looking down the same direction as in the previous picture. This is looking toward the front door from my table. I caught the top of Phil’s head in the picture. This is Saturday morning before it got too busy.

This will give you a little idea of the number of people that came to the show, and how busy it is.
The traffic flow was about like this from 10 AM to 4 PM on Saturday. Sunday the traffic was maybe a little later but we were only open for six hours and traffic was heavy for four or five hours. It really is an amazing show!
I thought all knife shows with this busy until Phil commented on how busy it was. I made several good sales in the last hour of the show on Sunday. My wife also took several pictures. I will see if I can get them from her and post them if the better than the ones I took. The lighting in the show is not great for picture taking. ::nod::

The service was a little on the slow side so we took pictures while waiting on our waitress to show up.

To all you lucky guys that attended the Show, you were very fortunate to see so many amazing knife displays.
Many thanks to all that posted pics to appease the unfortunate blokes like me that didn't get there. From all accounts it was a huge success. I know my mate Doug Webber is still smiling.

Here are my photos of the show as bad as they are. What a spectacular show! From vintage folders to Bowie knives to custom folders and fixed blades and even some modern folders--something for everyone. As I recall there were about 18 knife displays and the Bowie knife display won first place. Saw and spent some time with old friends and made some new ones. If you have not been you must do yourself a favor and go sometime. Had a wonderful dinner with folks from AAPK all arranged by Dale (Orvet). Thanks Dale! Had an opportunity to visit again this year with Dale and his wonderful and very nice wife. Also had the pleasure to meet for the first time and visit with Philco at the show. Wonderful gentlemen who has a very easy going manner, a great understanding of knives and knows how to tell a good story! Lloyd

Cleaning up after some rest. Reducing the paper to digital. Thought someone want these three. The first is the event location area. The top is North. The next two are businesses and Vendors. If you click on the photo it should enlarge. JUST CHECKED AND AAPK ALLOWS FOR TWICE THE ENLARGEMENT FUNCTION. Thanks Brian.

Since there were no Canal Street knives to be found, I only ended up buying one knife at the show, but it was a dandy. Anyone recognize the mark of this customizer ?

I got quite a few knives at the show this year, including my first Honk Halls Napanoch which was in a box of parts knives.
I was going to repair it, but someone offered enough money for it that I really couldn't afford not to sell it. ::ds::
My only regret is I didn't get a picture of it, since it was the only Honk Falls Napanoch I have ever held in my hand!

I will post pictures of some of the knives from the show here in this topic, no doubt some will go into other topics as well.
