A pocket knife is still an intimate personal possession of the individual who carries it and consequently deserves the best of materials, finish and workmanship in its production. (Quoted from Boker's 1928 cutlery catalog).

Re: Ring opener knives
Swap ring turns anybody?
I have this beautiful MOP, Humphrey's Radiant' no cracks! Has the classic 'lantern logo' stamped on tang. Sheffield England.
It has normal pocket wear and is in great shape for it's age. The Mother of pearl has great 'fire' I would trade for a nice ring turn that I do not have in my collection. I have three of these! (One for trade)
Just let me know, or send pics of proposed trade ring turn.
Cheers guys!
Kirk

Another new ring-turn!
I have an association with an online 'picker' in the U. K. now, and he just found and sold me this Joseph Rogers & Sons, Sheffield made old ring turn knife. This is an old one I am sure... I really appreciate the ones that are still full bladed, yet have a great patina going on...
I take new pics when I have it in hand.
Whoohoo!

Harrison Bros & Howson Sheffield 1 blade (Celluloid Handle restored with MOP handles - By Mr. by Bill DeShivs!)
Humphrey's Radiant, Sheffield
Black Diamond L.B.L. Fully WD Crucible Steel
H. Boker & CO.S Cutlery
*NOTE: The photography in no way does the MOP handles any justice!

Re: Ring opener knives
Here are a few of my favorite ring turn knife tang stamps. The John Watts Frog is from 1916.
The Joseph Rogers is early 19th Century as well.

Re: Ring opener knives
I have just purchased another new antique ring turn. This is another I purchased from my French contact. It is unmarked yet probably early 19th Century. It is unique that it has barrel shaped ring holders, and it has a covered spring, with a little window exposing the back spring.
I will post my own pics once it gets here from France.

Re: Ring opener knives
Another new ring turn guys! This is a uncracked, celluloid, 'cracked ice' scaled ring turn. Solingen, Germany is all that is on tang.
These are hard enough to find as it is. Let alone free from shrinkage, or cracking!
Cheers,
Kirk

Re: Ring opener knives
Yes! Another new ring turn! Plus this one is a more rare design. 'One blade', plus a bail. It has a crack in the faux horn scale (one side) So after I look it over. If I do not like the crack, I will have knife master Bill Shives, re scale it for me.
Enjoy guys,
Kirk
