Big Jacks

Post by FRJ »

I love these big Jacks. All of these knives are at least 3 3/4" long.

They are great companions.

What- cha got?

Here's a few. I think the smallest one is the metal handled Case Navy knife at under 4 inches. The single-blade North American is the largest at 5-1/4 inches.

Besides a couple of Delrin Kabar jacks over 4.5" I haven't yet photographed, the only "big jacks" I really have are my granddaddy Barlows...

My 6292 Texas jacks clock in at 4" exactly. What's the general consensus on "big"? ::shrug::

knife7knut, those four knives in that group are nearly, maybe, could be, the Holy Grail of Connecticut knives. WOW!

Duffer every single one of those is fantastic, the diamond edge with the flat rear bolster really catches my eye. This is probably the only knife I have that I would call a big jack.

None are old but they sure as the dickens are large. My apologies for the reflections in the English Jack case.
There are others but they are either modern knives or imported.

The English Jacks are all the prerequisite for that pattern, 4½" closed.
English Jacks Labeled.JPG
This one was a shocker when it arrived. Either the closed length wasn't documented in the auction or more likely I was going on the picture alone. It's 4.625" closed. The comparison knife is an Orvet Modified electricians knife.

Jerryd those are outstanding! The second and third from the left in the case really get my motor running!
