FRJ, Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet pair, I just saw one online they were asking almost $900 for. Hope you got them for less than that, and your two really are beautiful. Great bones and jigging, great blades. Very good to see such stuff.

Ivoryman, these knives were considerably less money than that.
I'm glad you like them. They really are nice knives. The DE is unused/unsharpend.

Hi gaddy...it's a valid question and one that many novice collectors surely must wonder. There is an AAPK forum specifically for asking such knife related questions (viewforum.php?f=4), but the short answer to your question is, "Not necessarily." The fact that that a knife has a low serial number (or any s/n at all, for that matter), does not automatically make that knife more valuable than one without a s/n. Although, to a collector looking to complete a set with matching s/n's, it could make that knife priceless. So, the answer to your question is both No and Yes (but mostly No).

#78 Americans. White bone Tidioute, Chestnut Peach seed jigged bone Northfield. Pics don't do the white bone justice. Everything is smooth, sleek, rounded, bulbous, well proportioned, you might say sexy. Couple shots in different light.

Great ones Bomba. Something about the round ends, rounded scales, incredible marbled looking bone. Wow. Alluring, pulling, draws in like a siren song. Nice pair, especially the Tidioute. Absolutely love that bone.

Thanks, I-Man. The white bone 78 is beautiful, I'm a little surprised that the 2-blade is still available at dealers. The single-blade was gone before I could talk myself into buying one but the ivory is still calling my name even after I thought I'd be satisfied with the two-blade version. ::paranoid::

Beauties Q, wow is that my kind of Mammoth and my kind of Amber bone. Yeahhhhh.
I have here basically two sleeve board spears. Or about the same shape anyway, just one smaller. Really love rounded ends, larger at one end, a spear.

Newest initiated member of the Blue Camel Cult. Tidioute American 78 spear. The Northwoods was already in. They can check out any time they like but they can never leave.

Oh Yeah...that blue camel bone is positively electric...Very Nice. Those two steely knives would only feed the beast. You must be livin' it up at the Hotel...Seattle? (Such a lovely place!)
