Working it's way here via Canada Post - a Buck 319 from Roland in BC. Not sure about all the details, but this is a smooth punch variation of the Buck 319. OH

Well, y'all probably know by now, I like the old and the lost causes. I found this one yesterday and it is on the way. The pics are hard to see but the inscription says, "H BOKER & COs IMPROVED CUTLERY". Interesting scale material.... looks like bone. According to what I can glean from the description the knife is about 2" closed and about 4 1/2" with the 2 blades open. Looks like it might be a fun one to clean up.

Here is a pic of the "tree"... not sure if I picked the right one but I think this one might fit in the 1920 to 1930 time period.

Mike, I think you've nailed it with both the bone (note the haversian canals are pretty clear in your bottom picture) and the tree.

My most recent purchase, what I thought was flying under the radar ended up being a competitive lot. I was in on it for the Union WW1 Navy Knife, maybe I can recoup some of the expense by lotting the other three together for a few dollars. I'm a Union Cut collector and WW1 Navy Knives are way cool.

Correct, most other contracted makers used jigged bone and union used rough black comp. I believe it is one of the rarer issued knives and it's in nice shape

Why thank you woodwalker! I do enjoy beautiful useful things. When you can say an object Carrie's both of those traits you really have a prize IMO. :D

Greg, I haven't been payin' attention like I should and will just have to echo woodwalker's comments about the knives you posted yesterday.

Schrade Birdseye 835Y on the way. I kinda like the way this style looks. Big ole rivet heads and all..... There is a crack in the scale in one spot and somebody has scratched the day-lights out of the blades but not too bad all in all.
Why the heck do people think if they take sand paper to the blades and scratch them all up it will make a collector buy 'em quicker? Sheeeeesh.

Well, I did it again. I’m a sucker for a HOK, can’t help myself. So when one of my hands down favorite old Camillus stockman knives showed up for a price my cheapskate self couldn’t resist, I got that eyes glazed over look and pounced.

Bone handled Camillus 69. I’m hoping she’ll clean up nice.

Very cool, I have a segment of my collecting for knives just like that. I really need to work on them and rotate carrying them.

Will do. Cuz and I have been sussing it out over text today. From what we can tell from the pictures it appears to be a long line stamp and that seems to be, according to JerryD, a rare bird.

Lots of maybes here. I’m anxious to get it in hand.

Yes sir. Tis my opinion it was made on the cusp of Camillus discontinuing the use of bone for handles in the late '50s. I've been of a mind for some time now that the long line stamp came into use a few years before 1960. Of course, it's all guesswork with Camillus.

Speaking of Case. This Wharncliffe Copperhead looked like it was going to be delivered yesterday but that turned into a big disappointment. Hopefully Monday. According to USPS Tracking, it shows leaving Palatine IL (my regional hub) early on Saturday morning but it doesn't show it arriving Rockford yet. (it's only about 60 miles) ::pace::
