Here's one that was a gift from my late wife that I carried for years. The shield dropped out after about ten years of use, fortunately while it was in my pocket, and I glued it back in. It has been relegated to display since my wife passed away.

Not sure if this one counts as a Canoe...it's a Rough Ryder Reserve "KAYAK". Since a kayak is a type of canoe (certainly a close cousin), hopefully it won't be too out of place in this thread.

Looks like a canoe to me QT. ::tu:: Other companies have made canoe pattern knives and called them kayaks. A.G. Russell comes to mind and I believe Parker and/or Frost have as well.

I'm flattered that my opinion is held in such high regard but I'm really just a bonehead with a lot of canoes! ::rotflol:: ::super_happy::

Here's the latest addition to the armada. This one has been on my wanted list forever and I finally pulled the trigger. I'm happy that I bought it but a bit disappointed due to the fact that there is some slight play in the blade when locked open. Not the German craftsmanship I'm accustomed to. Other than that it's a beautiful, well made knife and I have no complaints about that gorgeous European stag.

Looks very fine Squatch. I empathize with you about the blade play. It takes edge off the pleasure of a new knife. Happened to me once with a Puma.

Thanks QS.

The lock up is solid but there is just enough side to side play to be noticeable.

Nice stag like that certainly must help minimize the disappointment of a little blade play...don'tcha think? ::nod::

Yes but I expected better from a cutler with a reputation like Weidmannsheil. As I said, it's just enough to be noticeable and therein lies the rub, it's noticeable. Won't stop me from using it though. Good steel as expected too, came off the factory edge to a razor edge in short order.

Nice Charlie. Love green bone and that shield is pretty sweet too.

Charlie that Case looks super. I don't know if it's just my opinion or not, but I'm thinking Case has stepped up their game a little in the last year or two. In any case (pun intended) I do like your new canoe. ::tu::

Congrats Charles. Somehow green bone gives a knife a kind of subtly sophisticated look. At any rate that is how it strikes me.

Thanks Phil!

Case has always been top notch but I think you're right, they're offering a wider variety of handle materials, colors, and patterns.

Being of Irish descent, I never met a shade of green or a potato I didn't like! ::rotflol:: The olive green scales and peach seed jigging do give this knife a sophisticated "gentlemanly" look. The bomb shield certainly enhances that look. ::super_happy::
