I have a small collection of canoe pattern knives, but it seems like I never carry one. I love the shape and size, and the variety of makers is an appealing collectibility thing for me. But I pretty much would always prefer a bottle opener or a small scissors to a second knife blade. My work week pocket carry is a vintage Victorinox Voyageur, for example.

But recently I found a canoe that I will be carrying, because it replaces the small blade with a cap lifter. It's the perfect summer backyard party knife. Small and discreet, vintage charm of stag scales, and the bottle opener.

It appears to be a Hen & Rooster by Bertram. No box, but the knife is new and unused. Does anyone know of any other makers that make this pattern?

Could also be a Robert (or Robi) Klaas / Kissing Crane. I have seen some older knives from them with cap lifters before if I am not mistaken. They bought Hen & Rooster from Bertram Cutlery in 1983. Here is a link to their History but it's all in German. ::nod::

Myron, that is a very lovely acquisition. Pretty sure that is a Hen & Rooster. If anyone knows about another Canoe in that pattern it will probably be Sasquatch.

I like seeing the Solingen, Germany on the tang. Personally, I like Hen and Rooster, Myron. This is German, too, Boker. Living in N.C., I had to have this when I saw it.

Nice batch of boats! It's good to have a cigar while you're canoeing too. ::tu::

Lovely canoes, @JoKr! I have the Bulldog Scout in the same scales as your Bulldog canoe. Was thinking of changing the scales out to something else, but every time I look at them I am re-mesmerized.
