If someone were to have told me a couple years ago the largest number of my collection in a single pattern would be Canoe's, I would have never believed them. There's just something about them - the thin-ness, stout secondary blade, hard snap ... tough to quantify, but one thing's for sure, I'm all in with the Canoe's ... here's my latest

Careful Bruno, the canoe pattern will grow on ya!

John, my Grandpa carried a canoe so from my earliest days it has been a very "traditional" pattern. It's big enough to be very useful in many applications, it's "pocket friendly" with all rounded edges, and it fits well in the hand when in use. So what's not to like? I have many different patterns in my collection and I have several favorites but the canoe is my favorite favorite ::super_happy:: . I've been carrying an Ol' Yeller Sodbuster Jr. with CV blades for a while now, another one of my favorites, but as I rotate my EDCs the canoes get the most pocket time. I'm fond of cigar whittlers and saddle horn trappers too. I almost always carry a large locking folder, on my belt or in my back pocket as well for the bigger dirtier jobs. Oh yeah, I always carry a Swiss Army Classic too......mostly for the toothpick.

Does a Baby Butterbean count? :) It doesn't float well, but it's a small canoe.

Yep, it certainly does count Roger. The canoe pattern has three sizes traditionally, the baby butterbean, canoe, and gunboat. They all have the same "canoe" look just different sizes. Of course there have been variations down through the years but those three are pretty much standard. I heard that Case will no longer be making gunboats....I'm not happy about that. :( However it will increase the value of existing Case gunboats in the future.

Thanks for showing such a fine first run beanie! ::clapping:: ::tu::

Squatch - so the canoe pattern runs deep in your family - that's very cool ! Carrying a SAK for the toothpick literally made me LOL at my desk - well done !

I love seeing Case use Damascus other than the ubiquitous raindrop pattern. My one Damascus knife is a Case Barlow but I could not find it in anything but raindrop. It's still a looker -- and a slicer -- but it's just not "special" to me.

Save some of that stag for the rest of us, though. ::sneaky::

Thanks for the compliments gentlemen! ::super_happy::

FYI Tony, Shepherd Hills Cutlery had a SFO blued Damascus series in their latest catalog.......and it ain't raindrop. I'm thinking about snaggin' one for myself, no canoe pattern being offered though. If I recall the patterns are: teardrop jack, trapper, and cheetah.

Here's the latest addition to the canoe fleet, another MOP. This one with lined bolsters. I'm still on the hunt for the Silver Script MOP canoe.

Thanks Phil.

I try to keep the collection growing. Of course, in return, the collection tries to keep my pockets empty! ::hmm:: ::shrug::

I'll continue to post 'em as I get 'em...and keep the thread rolling. Speaking of which, where are all the other canoe ca-nuts???? I like looking at the canoes others have collected as much as posting my own. Let's see some boats!! ::clapping::

I don't think anybody else is quite as prodigious in enhancing our armadas as you, Charlie. ::nod::  Your post did make me realize that it's been a while since I got that last gunboat, and I should probably endeavor to add some others. I keep seeing this S&M keystone canoe for sale that I'm probably going to end up convincing myself to buy at one point. But any boats I get going forward will be posted here. ::tu::

Tony,

I've been eyeballin' several S&M canoes on fleabay. I don't have any S&M canoes in my collection....yet. I've got to remedy that situation at some point. They are fine, well made knives. I also regret not snaggin' a couple of Canal Street canittlers when I had the chance.....now they will be hard to find and will cost more. I kept putting off buying one in favor of filling other empty berths in the harbor. Oh well, 20/20 hind sight as they say.

On a lighter note, CASE does seem to be increasing their Damascus offerings a bit.

However, they seem to be offering fewer new canoes. ::shrug::

Here are three Queen canoes. A workhorse, a QCCC Red Stag, and an ACSB #64. Snapped this pic in between Easter dinner prep. Happy Easter everyone.

A fine trio of boats ya got there, Bruno!! ::tu:: ::clapping::

Queen is one of the best. I have several including three Col. Coon canoes made by Queen. I said earlier that I need to add some S & M canoes to the collection, which are also made by Queen.

Thanks for showing them!

Thanks guys. That workhorse is an excellent knife. I had one, sold it (shouldn't have), then another came up for sale and I bought it. The previous owner put an ultra sharp 20 degree angle on the blades and it's a real nice EDC.

It's called Autumn and it seems to have a range of shades. I have three knives with Autumn bone handles and they are all a bit different.
