Schrade 44OT

Post by Unk »

Schrade 44OT......won this one on e-bay this weekend (haven't received it yet). I haven't seen too many of these pop up on e-bay - I think they only made them for a few years.

This one isn't mint, but looks to be in decent shape. I like the wharncliffe blade.

Great old knife, Unk ::tu::

A first for me! I like it!

Looks like it was built on the 34OT frame ::nod::
Guess the "4" in the model No. stands for a 4 blade ::shrug::

A wharncliffe AND a sheepsfoot, two of my favorite blade profiles. Closed Length: 3-5/16" Just right for EDC. Are you going to? I carried a little 108OT Junior for years and I can testify to their dependability and reliability.

According to the Schrade model list, the 44OT Workmate was only made '90-'93 and a few in 2001. You have yourself a keeper there. ::tu::

Thanks to Taylor Brand I just ordered a 44ot workmate because I couldn't have afforded one otherwise. I didn't even know about them and just stumbled on them by chance and couldn't even find one in the AAPK store.
I can't imagine why it was so short lived and maybe Taylor Brand can't either.
It happens to be just what I was looking for and didn't know existed. ::ds::

There were in fact two issues of the 44OT, the first was 1990 to 1993.
In 2001 a special run of 4000 pieces of the 44OT were produced.
They are great knives but I would find them more if they were a little bit larger.
