The tool chest and the stag Rodgers both have me drooling. ::not_worthy:: The wallet must be hurting today but I'll bet it was worth every dime. ::nod:: ::tu::

Actually wallet not too worse for wear. Chest and knives all for under 2.5 Benjamins. the Fly Fishing knife was 1.5 of those so I think I did pretty good.

That's quite a batch! And all at once! ::tu:: I got this Schrade 160 OT in yesterday's mail. I was visiting folk in Minnesota this summer and got into a knifemakers' supply house in Mankato. I bought two sets of ironwood and a few other items and am hoping to try my hand at re-hafting two fixed blades this winter. I must admit that I am somewhat intimidated, but maybe I will get through it. So far my big successes with three-dimensional objects are building and fixing fence. Wish me luck! Meanwhile, my first image would not be accepted by AAPK software in a horizontally oriented configuration. I went back and rotated it to a vertical or portrait look and it went through ok. This has happened to me before and I don't get it.

Discounting the Case Fly Fisherman's knife, since it came from Ebay, you had a fabulous day of Garage/Yard Sales Shopping. All that for under $100.00.

The rest of us should be so lucky.

Where were you shopping, Beverly Hills?

That kind of stuff does not reside in garage sales around here, although I sold two similar tool chests and a cigar box full of pocketknives in one of Sarah's garage sales years ago.

Knives from the North Blade Collectors meeting and one from Gun/Knife show in Duluth. The Duluth gun show knife is a Boker whittler. The fishing knife is a Utica. The large pearl lobster is an early Ulster Knife, near unused. The two cattle knives are both Ulster Knife. The pearl whittler with the Aluminum bolsters is a Simmons Keen Kutter. The celluloid pen with the scissors is a Ulster Knife and finally the tortoise pen is a IXL that i'm guessing is 1800's.____Dave

Here are some photos of others I accumulated over the weekend.
Top photo is a Case Mako, MIB.
Next 2 are Schatt & Morgans. These are really nice knives.
Last photo is a 'covey' of Battle Axe knives and I hope we have someone here who can tell me about these. They are each serial number 208 so clearly this must be some sort of a set. Not sure when they came out or what they might have sold for.

I'm new to knife collecting, if I haven't read it in a book lately I don't know anything about these, they are some beautiful knives, really nice. Thanks for sharing. Bill

Ray, the Battle Ax set of knives are listed in the 5th edition of "The Standard Knife Collector's Guide" by Roy Ritchie and Ron Stewart. They say very little about them and give no information as to date when they were issued. They call them the "Folding Hunter Series" and give them a collector value of $400 for the entire set of six (you have the full set). They say "each knife commemorates an idea, profession, or subject". The book was published in 2007.

Thanks for that, Dan. I have an older version of that book and I'll get on the hunt. 8)

Not so much a find as a re-discovery. Doing some reorganizing and "re-discovered" this Cold Steel Arc Angel. Did not realize the values have gone crazy on these. Good surprise!
