Glad you got to go, Scott!
We usually try to make it the Monday after Father's Day but not this year, maybe we'll be able to go around Grandpa's 98th birthday late in August.

Re: KNIFE FINDS OF THE DAY
Jerry, you'd be disappointed. Grandpa is a teetotaler and probably been one his whole life. Back when he was a cow-hunter he probably drank a lot of swamp water. I know in some places "swamp water" is slang for untaxed spirits that usually come out of the woods but as far as we know he has always abstained.
He takes no prescription medicines and Thursday he is supposed to undergo cataract surgery on the right eye. He is still driving his old pickup truck and cutting up an occasional beef.

Nothing really great here in this bunch, but I like finding clean up/restoration projects. An interesting variety of "Sharp" items...

I like the electrician's knife...and is that a scrimshaw'd Barlow at lower keft?
Yes indeed, especially that little one-hand opener.

Re: KNIFE FINDS OF THE DAY
Found this yesterday in Annapolis. C.1958 WEST-CUT, Boulder, Colo. hunter. "Wood-Craft" style. 8-3/4" overall, 4-3/4" blade. Pretty, red-green-brown=gold mottled handle, possibly Bakelite.
It's hardly used and appears not resharpened. Came with a custom-made sheath that fits very well. I don't generally collect fixed blades but it was so nice it caught my eye. I posted it on the WESTERN forum too. J.O'.

Nice, Ridgegrass. I wouldn't have passed that up either. I really like the looks of that handle. I'll bet the grip on that is perfect.

Re: KNIFE FINDS OF THE DAY
The grip is perfect. Really a close copy of a "WoodCraft" pattern. Levine says they weren't made long and were an econo line from WESTERN. I lke it! Thanks all. J.O'.

Hey, I can finally contribute! Went to my first flea market in at least a year, hmmm maybe longer. Anyways, had a pretty good morning.
This nice Wostenholm quill knife This 72 is all there, full blades, just needs a new mark side cover. Richartz Bros & Sons Seneca Cutlery. Needs a replacement punch, does anyone have one??? Millers Bros...love the swedges Unknown with waterfall cell...could be Schrade, but no legible markings

Dad found this old Camillus Granddaddy Barlow at a gun and knife show and I liberated it from him! This is the first one of this pattern that I’ve ever had.

Re: KNIFE FINDS OF THE DAY
Dirty shame you don't have a chunk of that beautiful old Camillus bone to put on that 72. Other than that, it appears to be in fantastic condition. Great find Phil.

Lol. I promise, it was with his consent. I bought the Barlow from him and yesterday I changed out a light fixture for them. Mom and dad can’t stand for anybody to do something for free for them so when I wouldn’t let them pay me dad insisted I take the knife.
I tell ya, it’s hard to raise good parents.

Next time just tell them it's payback for puttin' up with you when you were a kid. If they should counter with "but we did that out of love" your immediate come back is "and I do this out of love and you can't buy love."Colonel26 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 08, 2021 1:51 pmLol. I’ve tried that. But dadgum they’re hard headed.
