KNIFE FINDS OF THE DAY
Re: KNIFE FINDS OF THE DAY
Here are my 2 finds for the weekend.
Imperial Circa 1945 as the can opener says Pat Pend. The blades on this are almost full. It took a wicked edge in no time.
Craftsman 95066 the blades are n this are pretty full. Only problem is it looks like a 10 year old tried to sharpen it with rocks. A little time on my Arkansas’ and blades are nice and keen
$10 well spent for some EDC knives.

Re: KNIFE FINDS OF THE DAY
I went with my wife to a "gathering" where she set up to sell some of the dog collars she makes. Low and behold, right next to her, a girl set up that had some pocket knives. Most of them would have been really nice ones if there had been any blade left. Most were sharpened to death.
BUT, this one was only $30 so I figured I could take a chance it might clean up nicely. And it did....
A German made "Indian Head"... recon that is politically INCORRECT to say such a thing?
Here she is....

I based the circa 1945 on the following patent info. As the can opener says Pat Pending. I could be all wet about it though. https://patents.google.com/patent/US2391732

Re: KNIFE FINDS OF THE DAY
I bought myself a couple of Christmas presents.
1st is a 1990 Cattaraugus Sleeve Board Whittler it was made in Japan commissioned by A G Russell for the Knife Collectors Club knife. Not sure of the blade steel but this knife's fit and finish is as good as I've ever owned IMO on par with customs.
Second is a CRK Mnandi with bog oak inlays and S35V steel.
3rd is a GEC 990118 Wall Street 440c steel and a lockback.

Re: Indian Head knife posted towards top of page: if handles are celluloid they have a very high incidence of off gassing on these Risner Indian Head knives. Note there are recent China copies and these do not have cell handles.

I'm hard to buy presents for but you've just given me some great ideas of what I can get for myself. I'm just not sure I've been as good as you.

Re: KNIFE FINDS OF THE DAY
Thanks Glenn I have heard that the KCC knives were really nice so when I had the chance to buy it for a very good price I snagged it and I must say it lives up to it's rep but then again it's an AG Russell special project made in Seki Japan.
Thanks Geocash being old and divorced has some advantages no one to have to explain yourself to.

Re: KNIFE FINDS OF THE DAY
Hey Scott, the white and black handled fixed blade knife on the top of your photo looks a little familiar, I made a few like that several years ago, mine would have my Landenberger logo on the left side of the blade. does that knife have any markings? The ones I made were ivory and ebony, I doubt it is one of mine but you never know. thanks for looking, Terry

Re: KNIFE FINDS OF THE DAY
He’s actually been selling them for 3 @ $10.
The big one went to my son for a work knife, the second went to his girlfriend and I got the little spider knife.
I’ve actually been kind of eying the one Ty got because the handle bows out and the wood is just lovely. She needed a work knife too and her hands are smaller, so she got it.
I really like the black widow. Of course, I got it partly because of the graphic but it’s also really solid and deadly sharp. I sometimes carve a bit and that little needle tip ought to come in handy.

Re: KNIFE FINDS OF THE DAY
I had a great show yesterday at the OKCA (Oregon Knife Collectors Association) mini show. It is a one day show Eugene Oregon and it's a great place to find some awesome knives. I found a few…
I will post more pictures of them in the proper forums later this week.
The little white knife at the top right is actually mother-of-pearl.
I have some more pictures to post later that show the fire in the Mother for Pearl.
