I need to do some more research on the KA-BAR hobo knives but based on the stamps I'm thinking the 1930s. It's a slot knife, meaning the three utensils (knife, fork, spoon) are able to be detached into separate stand-alone pieces. Slots inside the knife hold it together when re-assembled. I normally shy away from knives I know little about but this was in great shape and he was willing to deal on it so I couldn't resist.

Im hoping there's some KA-BAR experts here that will educate me.

In a local junk shop today and found this little Case bull nose. I am not a fan of the bull nose and obviously the previous owner was not either and reshaped the blade to something more "street" worthy. Anyway for $5.00 I couldn't pass it up. It does make a good package opener.

Thanks Richard. It has definitely been personalized. Kinda hard on collector value but a useful little knife.

Didn't find any new knives today but I found something just as good on my way home. Stopped at a garage sale and lo and behold! A bunch of knife magazines and a baker's dozen of Knife World for $4.90. Plenty of good reading for awhile.

Went out to the antique stores with my sister today. Nothing much to speak of cutlery-wise, but I did pick up this Cutco 1069 for $15.

It does have the sheath, which I'll have to fix the snap on.

Paul that’s a nice haul there. All of them great. But that folding hunter with sheath takes the cake.

Thanks for posting that Ray. Been wondering what my pile of old back issues of Knife World are worth - looks like about $5 a dozen! Of course, that means I have at least $200 worth. ::facepalm::

This just came in. Terrier Cutlery, with "Made in USA" on the back side tang of main. I have no reason to think it's a fake, but don't know a whole lot about this brand. Regardless, it only ran me $8. Where's Charlie when you need him??? ::paranoid::
