Thanks Gents, looks very different from a lot of the goldenrod bone 62s I"ve seen. Nice they don't all look the same in my book. Flawless knife all around and so thin and slender it's a pleasure in the pocket. Mean cardboard attack rig.

Pulled these from the mailbox this morning. New in box 307 and an excellent condition 303. I just can’t own enough of these contract stockman.

Nice! My dad carried a 303 since around 1980. It's on the end table by his chair now. I want it but he says he's taking it with him :)

That's a fine one, too much glare to see the stamp. Glad the mailman made your day!

I believe a Queen knife with only a blade etch and no tang stamp means it was made between 1961-71.

Thanks Q, good to know. Learn something every day here. Shocks me they didn't put stamps on every knife. Never would have guessed. Thanks again.

Queen-tang-guide-sheet2.jpg
::hmm:: Now that's a very interesting fakt to know! ::hmm:: No Stamp from 61-71. So does anyone know how easily does the etching wear off on an EDC knife? ::shrug:: Are there a large number of Queen HOK's out there for sale that can no longer be identified as such? ::shrug::

I'm just curious because I have two very nice "Unstamped" knives in my collection. Of course not Queens, but the fact that a good cutlery maker may have only marked their knives with etching would be an explanation for the two nice knives that I have found. And the answer to the question I kept asking myself about them which was..., "Why would a cutlery company produce such a nice piece of cutlery & then not stamp it?" Answer is..., One who etched it instead of stamping it. ::hmm:: That could be the explination I've been searching for. ::nod:: ::shrug::

Thanks for that Info Q! ::handshake:: That question has been haunting me for some time now. I have my explination now. ::tu:: It works very well and seems to make a lot of sense to me so I'm gonna stick to it. ::nod::

Here are some pictures of those 2 knives. A Bearhead Jack stamped only Solingen Germany & a Stockman stamped only Stainless Steel. Both have some nice bone handles, the stockman also has half stops. ::hmm:: Think I just found my EDC's for the day. ::ds:: ::super_happy::
