Got this in the mail this weekend and just had to show it. This knife checks all the boxes on a quality traditional.
Butter smooth pulls with excellent snap. Zero blade play.
No blade rub.
Back springs and liners are water tight.
The jigging and dyeing on the bone is beautiful.
Nice reverse frost etch. Blade grinds and edges are nice.
Fit and finish overall is just superb.
I think this knife is ‘80’s vintage. 4” closed. Like the Henry Boker shield too. I think these Boker traditionals are one of the most under appreciated brands by far.

A recent purchase from Orvet arrived today. It's a Camillus 99 camp/scout knife. It was shipped quickly, packaged very well, and looks most excellent. Thank you very much, Dale!

Nice one, Dan.
Dale knows how it's done better than most; not only does he know knives better than most, he's the BEST shipper/packager I have EVER dealt with.

Here's the latest to sit in the throne at the top of my trophy case. Picked up this sweet beauty in a very fun and highly rewarding knife swap with Ivoryman who was kind enough to let it go. A custom Erickson single blade at 3½" closed length is right in my wheelhouse. I absolutely LOVE everything about this knife...not the least of which is the Wharn/Spear hybrid blade profile. This knife just blows my mind every time I look at it (chicken-eye) or handle it (coon-finger) which seems to be pretty much constantly. I honestly don't think I've set it down for more than about 30 seconds since it arrived...just can't stop admiring every little detail. This is just about the perfect knife for me in every way. As much as I'd love to EDC it, I know that will never happen under my watch. Normally, a knife like this would go straight into my safe to live out the remainder of its days/my life as a safe queen...but, I just can't bring myself to hide it away just yet...oh no...it's gonna be out on display for a good long while, I reckon...getting all the wear and tear that comes with loving/fondling/caressing a knife as much as possible while still keeping it as pristine and unblemished as possible.
Thanks again, Ivoryman, you really outdid yourself this time and once again showed your true colors and generosity.

Re: Mail Call !-Post your new pick-ups here............
I received these two in the other day.
First another colored ALOX SAK to add to my SAK group. A 2019 Cadet in Champaign Gold with Alox handles. Next another to add to my Craftsman and Camillus 72 clone family. It's a Craftsman 9494 Carpenters Whittler with the Reddish jigged handles, and Craftsman shield without the Crown around the word "Craftsman. Blades are full and have beautiful snap and no wobble. They do have scratches, spots and some tiny pitting, but does have some of the original luster. It did need some cleaning.

I like that champagne color on that Alox. That gives the knife a rich look, I might have to get me one of those. Very nice Smitty.

Appreciate it SSK, and I agree. IMHO, I think they did well coming out with the different colors for the ALOX line.Sharpnshinyknives wrote: ↑Wed Jul 21, 2021 1:05 am I like that champagne color on that Alox. That gives the knife a rich look, I might have to get me one of those. Very nice Smitty.

Fair Warning: Be prepared to see this sweet sweet little beauty showing up in multiple threads...a knife like this deserves, né demands, to be seen and to be shown off for all to enjoy, albeit if only from afar and only in digital form...sorry, kids (but not really! )

The Monkey just doesn't let you rest, does he? That Winchester is particularly cool.
I received three new (to me) Old Timers yesterday. Thanks to Chase for selling them!
This Old Timer belt buckle, an eBay find, also arrived yesterday.
