Mail Call !-Post your new pick-ups here............
Re: Mail Call !-Post your new pick-ups here............
Fished one out of the shallow end of the bay this week. At first I thought it was a WW2 EO General Purpose Utility Knife but on a second look I realized that the blade was not a spear but a clip. Not in the best of shape but still a very sweet old 4 line knife.
Picked this one up from Perry over on Facebook Traditional Knife Collectors forum. It is a Kutmaster 3 blade stockman pattern probably made in the 60's. It is featured on page 125 of "Pocket Knives of the United States Military" by Silvey. It is in wonderful shape. Re: Mail Call !-Post your new pick-ups here............

Wow! Beautiful Knives Floyd! I like em both very well but if you told me I could pick one... I'd make a quick fake move towards that EO, (while yelling out "Hey look! Theres a chicken!) then double back & grab up that Kutmaster faster than the human eye can see!
Yes Sir! That's what I'd do! Congrats on the nice finds!
Signing off. Good night friends!

Thanks Tom and Dan
Re: Mail Call !-Post your new pick-ups here............
Nice score on that 2OT. I'm hoping to find something nice as I start (for the first time in about 3 years) hitting the flea markets and local junk shops. To me, it has to be cheap (which for most American or German bone-handle traditional and most modern not-Chinese tactical knives $20 is cheap; but expensive for many small, simple SAK models or most small American lockbacks), not Chinese or Pakistani; and in decent shape.
It's in better shape than most 2OTs I see. With me, that would have immediately become an EDC after filling that chip, but I can't wait to see what you do with it.

Floyd, are you sure that EZ Open didn't start life with a spear blade which got ground down to a clip blade.doglegg wrote: ↑Wed Jun 16, 2021 7:51 pm Fished one out of the shallow end of the bay this week. Here's a 4 line EZ Open. And here's a 33 short line EZ Open with a spear blade. Compare the nail nick (not a nick but a long line).
I could be way off base but just sayin'.

Re: Mail Call !-Post your new pick-ups here............
you may be correct sir especially with that long pull falling off the end of the blade as it does. I’m prone to agree with you Jerry but nice old bone there Floyd, give her some pocket time.jerryd6818 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 16, 2021 11:25 pm…are you sure that EZ Open didn't start life with a spear blade which got ground down to a clip blade

Jerry, you could very well be right and you have respected agreement from Tom. I shall go with that opinion until future proof surfaces. Thanks for the observation.

New EDC. Got this one yesterday. Posted it elsewhere but I’ll show it here too. I think the handle covers are walrus?

BEAUTY! EDC, though?? Really, Ken? That would be a safe queen in my collection for sure.Mumbleypeg wrote: ↑Thu Jun 17, 2021 4:42 am New EDC. Got this one yesterday. Posted it elsewhere but I’ll show it here too. I think the handle covers are walrus?

I'm sure Ivoryman could tell you if the handle is Walrus or some other kind of ivory...that's his thing.

Re: Mail Call !-Post your new pick-ups here............
Walrus or not, it's a beauty, that's for sure. I'd also keep it as a safe queen, but it looks like it would be a great carrier, too.

Sweet one Mumbley, should get some serious enjoyment from EDCing that. Beautiful piece.

I neglected to post this one yesterday: a new Camillus 27. The seller said they bought it new and never used it. Certainly looks new and unused!

Ken, Mr Stone showed off with that one. That might fall into the category of a barbeque knife. Would love to feel those handles.
Dan, that one is a worker. Great pick up.
