Beautiful knife Rick! Jigging/Color of the scales work great on this one. Slanted bolsters and Diamond shield make this one a special knife. Not to mention those 3 sweet blades!
Wonderful barlow Mark. One of the best i'v seen. Color/Jigging give it a real special look, that's for sure!
My 76' Queen #3 and vintage Queen City heavy duty jack arrived. Both 2 nice knives for sure. The #3 has a tight pin crack on each bolster. But for $32 how can you go wrong.
The Queen City is a wonderful old survivor! Walk and talk is extremely tight. Blades look to have been buffed, but not too bad.
All in all i am very happy!

Double my pleasure in the mailbox today.

1st is a 1940's bone handle Camillus #14. Handles are great. Blades are pretty good for it's age and some Quick Release will get the blades snappin' again.

The other one is a Case Mini-Trapper with Giraffe pattern handles that ~Q~ was gracious enough to sell to me. It's much better in person than I expected. Thank you very much ~Q~.

Your son did good, that's pretty neat! Big ol' folding hunters are one of my favorite patterns. I've not seen one like yours before either. According to the tang stamp chart, that one is '56-'88, maybe. I'll bet that one will take great edge. ::tu::

Big day at the mail box. Some of these will be reposted on appropriate threads.

First is a Bulldog 1sr generation Stag Sowbelly. [Tobacco King ettching]
P1030321 (2).JPG
Then two new Case XX Stockmans. The medium blue one is giraffe bone. The large Stockman is covered with Red Sycamore.
P1030322 (2).JPG
Next is a Stag Schrade Cattleman. [Alamo] The F&F were superb, not what I was expecting. This knife was near flawless. With half stops, extra fine runups, and mirror image matching stag. It also had a divot on the pile side to provide easy access to the nail nick of the punch.
A much appreciated touch.

I have only had one Buck in my life, 30 years ago, and decided I would investigate how they are today. The low price told me it was China made but was surprised as I had not known Buck had made that move. I suppose, I hope, most of their production is still in Idaho.

QS, I'm with doglegg on that Bulldog. Wow that's a beauty. We need a full centerfold layout on that one. ::nod::

Thank you guys, Appreciate your input. This hobby of ours is full of surprises. While I won't set aside my Bulldog focus, I have recently been bitten by the Stockman/Cattleman bug, the pattern not particular brands. Hence the two Cases and the Moore Maker of a few days ago.
I think I need an intervention.

Just in from EBay! Less than $30! A Buck 371 & 503 which will be headed back to Buck for the spa treatment. A Pakistani Barlow, baby Japanese camp knife and an Imperial Ireland hawkbill. You'll see nestled in the bunch why I bought them, a Schrade wire jack!

Solid lot of workhorses there! I buy the same way, and it depends. My budget is no more than what you paid for these lots. Sometimes I get a lot of great knives at a penance, other times, I get a bunch of duds needing extensive repair.
