Wow, RR, that Electric is one beautiful knife. Is that 3 3/4" closed? Hard to tell the size from the pic. Any idea on an approximate age? Regardless, it's a fine looking piece of cutlery.

Thanks, Mike. ::handshake:: Comes in at 3 1/2" closed, with the Walden stamp it would be after 1910 but my version of Goins doesn't have an end date. ::shrug::

Hey thanks for the reply RR. 3 1/2"" closed is my ideal sweet spot for a traditional knife. Rides in the pocket easily, but is still big enough to be useful.

Here's my ole hawkbill daily carry and one for the little pocket. The little one is beat up but has a great backspring and plenty of blade left for me, I'm just happy to own a lil piece of history.

Mike, if 3 1/2" is your sweet spot, do you have any Mini Trappers?

Ahhhh....ummmm.... ::smirk:: ...welll...well.... I have to admit Jerry that I do not. I have had a couple in the past, but they have moved on to new homes over the years. I have looked into picking up another one, but most of the newer ones seem to have a wharncliff main, and I am not a fan of that blade shape. I have also noticed on some of the newer ones that the blades when open are canted slightly, at an angle, which I am also not a fan of.
Now if I were to find one with a clip or spear main that opened flat and on a line with the spine of the knife, I might be intrigued... ::hmm::
....also, full disclosure, I am also not a big fan of half stops, and I am pretty sure that is a standard feature on the miniTrappers. . ::facepalm::

Nice pair!

I have the original as you have (I think mine's a 1998), a standard Wave (2017, before they moved to replaceable wire cutters), as well as a Charge TTi. I have to admit, the original Wave is my favorite out of the bunch. It is lighter and slimmer than the redesigned versions, and I prefer the fixed drivers over those fiddly little screwdriver bits I always end up losing.

You got me there. Half stops do dominate, but on the bright side (for you) Wharncliffe blades are in the minority by a pretty good margin.

Glad you like the trapper. :D
I've never handled a Griptillian but I do have a couple Benchmades and this Ganzo works as easily they do.
I've had this one for for a few years but seldom carry it.
