Dave, you're welcome. And I'm serious, the composition of that train photo is outstanding. Definitely worthy of the photography thread. ::tu::

biggie-H, that English jack is a real looker. I'm digging the Queen electrician too -- don't see all that many in that style with a long pull. Nice totes!

gino, that red Viper is outstanding. I think I know which one I am going to hunt down on the secondary market -- it would pair very nicely with the AAPK #35. ::nod::

When I ordered them, I had no real intentions of carrying the Maher & Grosh Yankee Whittler. When I received them, and with the way gino has been carrying that wonderful Cane Cutter recently, I did some initial coon fingering to see how well it might EDC. For a three-spring jack it's surprisingly easy to pocket, even with all three blades being substantial (the pen is seriously long and thick, it dwarfs the rather big pen blades from knives like the Case 6292 Texas jack) and the knife being so solidly-built. The length is just right, the placement of the primary clip blade in the dead center of the knife is excellent, and the balance with any blade open is spot on. Now, the only thing I need to figure out is if I want to make the bone one a user or the cocobolo one. ::smirk::

Here's the Yankee Whittler along with a swayback gent and a RAT-1:

It would be hard to beat the feeling one would get when caught packing that Cocobolo Yankee Whittler. However the jigged bone version is nothing to sneeze at. I'm so glad both of mine are destined to be safe queens. Life can be so hard.......... ::dang::

At least for today it's a Spyderco Pacific Salt and a Schatt & Morgan teardrop jack in reverse worm groove.

The more I CF&CE the cocobolo version, Phil, the more I think it might be the one I end up EDCing. The jigged bone is definitely no slouch, though...the jigging is perfect and it sure is easy on the eyes for such a useful pocketknife. I won't be surprised if I end up carrying both. ::paranoid::

In the end, it's just too nice a knife to leave locked away in the dark. Kudos to the gentlemen for revitalizing the M&G name with these excellent homages to the knives of old. ::tu::

It is surprisingly easy to tote for a wider knife. In hand it handles like some of the thicker Barlows and old classic jacks. It feels no wider in my palm than a typical two-spring Camillus #27 (electrician's knife). The blade selection also means you probably won't need to carry another knife (but you can if you want...and if your belt can handle it).

The way I'm drooling over the stag Congress I think that''s a little understated, big-H.

I already had plans to tote the Whaler today -- it excels at branch and shrub-cuttin' and the bail stands up on end so I can snatch it from a pocket easily. I gave the cocobolo M&G a whirl as well to see which one I want to carry. Still can't decide... ::shrug::

What's the technical name of that red bone Gino? Looks great, sort of like some Hemlock Green Bone I have which is really burgundy, nothing green on there. This is like that. Sweet knives too. Vipers are great but you have to pay through the nose to get one everywhere I look. Congrats, great knife, great looker.

Thanks IM she’s my new favorite and that’s exactly what it’s called “hemlock green bone” and your right there’s no green in it, go figure. They are pricey so I had to trade through the nose for her but I’m happy
