Great eye! It is indeed an 1153, jigged red bone with the "TREE BRAND" etch faintly visible under the patina. It's one of my favorite pickups yet from everybody's "knife guy" Scott (TripleF). I'm not normally a fan of small knives guy -- I usually seek out one small-medium knife for the watch pocket most days, though I usually opt for a more robust pattern -- but this one is a demon slicer, mechanically sound, and still looks good for its age. That classic old spear point equal end pattern is, in my opinion, the gold standard for penknives, and I bet the walk and talk is still like new.
