Simmons Pony Barlow

Post by ludwig26 »

Does anyone own a Simmons Pony Barlow or even have or know where their is a photo of one.
I have personally seen a box for them and Goins says they were made in the 1880s but I would like to at least see a picture of one.
Thanks, Kerry

I've never seen one, but now I want one.

Never seen one. I'd like to see the rest of that catalog, though.

Dave
We have a thread on catalog images. Of Course, I know it takes a little time and work, but if Dave wanted to share a few more pages..... he could post the images here. viewtopic.php?f=35&t=42557

But on the topic of the Barlow, I will have to look into that one. I've not seen one either. Thanks for posting Ludwig.

First time I have heard the term,"Pony Barlow". I assume it refers to the smaller size of a standard Barlow. There aren't any dimensions on the catalog items but I have a Swanworks Barlow made in Germany that looks to be the same size. The only one I have ever seen in that size. Here is a pic of it.

Here is a link to the full 12 page catalogue. I have to say that I can see no date on it but the seller claims it was 1890.

Thanks for posting that link, Dave. I am surprised the seller did not put a digital watermark on the pages

Can anyone please shed any light on "Stub's Metal" which is associated with the Pony Barlow in the catalogue?

Sorry, that should be "Stub's STEEL" not Metal
