To all:
I wanted to share a project started this summer and finished in early fall the blade is W2 steel, forged with distal taper but then mostly stock removal. I wanted a chiseled point strong for penetration and pleased with these results. The blade is handsatin finished to 1200 grit. The guard and hardware is authentic wrought iron with 410 stainless spacers then blued to get a constrast to the white antler handle. The handforged guard is file worked into a “leaf” pattern. It was a component take-apart knife but I changed my mind and pinned / epoxied all sections together as I was afraid in use, people could over tighten the sections and destroy the look.
It hwas Andre vey well, nice balance and weight. I would not want to be on the other side of a gambler who drew this knives in a I’m angry card game !!
Photo sheath is hmy own but the final sheath is almost completed and I’ll include that later.
I welcome all questions, comments, and enjoy exchanging.
