As far as I know, the 30 pattern was never made in a single blade configuration. In addition to having the pen blade and catch bit removed, it looks to be rehandled. I believe this is an authentic Case 30 frame and believe it is likely an authentic Case 30 clip blade.

Jerry,
To me it is hard to say when you get to the really old ones. I know I have a WR Case 1905-15 6199 with Rogers bone that is original. Has the pattern number stamped. All of the later ones are 6299’s. I agree on the rehandle as it doesn’t look like old Case Rogers bone. Again not sure but it could be possible that a single blade 30 was made.

The second picture, showing top view indicates that the blade is from a multi blade knife by the way it crowds over to one side to leave room for the second blade to fit in.

I don't disagree with that for sure. Blade definitely does not center well. Sure not saying it is authentic by any means.OLDE CUTLER wrote:The second picture, showing top view indicates that the blade is from a multi blade knife by the way it crowds over to one side to leave room for the second blade to fit in.
Here is a picture of the 6199 W R Case I mentioned earlier. Until I got this one I had no idea a single blade 99 pattern was ever produced. I have a Case Bradford 6199 as well.

Re: Case Bradford 6130
Tom, I agree that there are old Case factory original knives out there that are legit and don't any supporting documentation. Your 6199 is a great example of that reality. It makes finding them and collecting them interesting (and sometimes challenging )
I wrote the original post on the 6130 hoping that it would generate some discussion and opportunity for me to learn if there ever was a 1 blade version. I have seen a 3 blade 6330 even though they were never documented as being produced.
