Case Trapper

Post by just bob »

I don't like this one - shield and the pins. I don't know anything about the tang stamps but these look new and that is concerning. I have 2 XX trappers and the stag has turned green. This knife is well preserved, but is it the real deal?

Looks like someone took a cheap stag trapper that happened to have a narrow bolster and put restamped blades in and glued a XX shield on the stag, terrible fake ::td::

Total fake. ::td:: ::td:: That fat sambar stag and that shield were never used during the Tested era.

Nice auction description too. No refunds or culpability it seems since they claim they have no idea if fake or real...

Up for bid is a 1920/40 Case Knife Trapper with stag handle. Absolutely beautiful knife. Gorgeous stag handles that are crack free. Bolsters are nice. Blades have never been sharpened and have nice snap. We got this knife at an estate and was told it was a old knife and it’s worth money. So we took it to several knife places and some said it was legit and some said it was a counterfeit. The ones who said it was counterfeit said it was in to nice of condition to be legit. The others seemed to be pretty sure it was real and just because of the condition it was in doesn’t mean it was counterfeit. So it is going to be listed like all our other knives. Please and I mean please look at the pictures and pay close attention for a better description and your opinion on this knife. We the sellers have no clue if this knife is real or counterfeit so bid at your own risk. ALL SALES ARE FINAL. NO REFUNDS AND NO RETURNS. Thank you for looking at our auction.
