Remington R3843 with original box??? Not!
The listing says the knife is "all original". In fact it is missing its bail, and looks like the original nickel silver bail pin has been replaced with a brass pin. Otherwise it looks like a good knife. Also, this pattern was never an official Boy Scouts of America knife. It did not come in the box shown, as implied in the listing. https://www.ebay.com/itm/REMINGTON-UMC- ... Swjrlaxoj0

I can't say much about the knife.
In the persons listings they have a few custom knives and had already sold custom knives.I wonder who does the custom work?

Peg, trying to learn a little here---
If there was supposed to be a bail, which moves loosely, where the brass pin is, what would have held the blade in place as I don't see a pin for the blade? Some kind of pin under the bolster?

This is what it should look like and Ken is correct that box doesn't go with the knife.

I agree, the brass pin indicates that it has been re-pinned and is not original. Should be a nickel silver pivot pin of extended length to contain the bail. No Boy Scout shield or etching cannot be an official Scout knife, thus box is not correct.

Re: Remington R3843 with original box??? Not!
Most Remington knives with bail had a hollow pin to hold blades with a small pin through the hollow pin that held the bail.

The original listing says the seller took it down due to errors in the listing (which of course there were). Glad to see they did the right thing.
Maybe they will re-list the knife stating the missing bail and pin replacement - otherwise it appears to be a nice knife. They could list the box separately, or put it with a BSA authorized Remington scout knife.
