Fake Case XX 31095 Fishing Knife

Post by Robo »

I advised the seller first, allowing him the benefit of the doubt. But he is sticking to his story (It's real!") and keeping it listed. So I reported it to E-Bay. I got taken once on E-Bay and I vowed to prevent other newbies from suffering the same fate.

So the two things that I see that are not consistent with a real one is the nail nick is wrong and the end bolster is too short.

Any one else have input?

The words vintage and antique are vague. Actually most words are vague. Even the word vague is vague.

Looks like a Kabar to me.
If I have seen further it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.

Yes! Also:On the Straight XX era Fishing knives the Tang on the clip blade should read "Case XX Stainless" and the pattern number (on the back of the clip blade) should read 31095. As you can see in the pictures none of the blade markings are correct.
