To call this knife "NEAR MINT" is an aberration of the accepted definition. In the eyes of most collectors a knife can't be both rehandled and near mint. sportcolbs direction to "Buy from an experienced eBay knife seller!" does not imply that he is an honest seller. One must know the difference between experienced and honest. He is indeed a very experienced seller.
If I have seen further it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.

The seller is a liar, plain and simple.
Pocket, fixed, machete, axe, it's all good!

I don't think Bill Swan is doing any of the Ebay selling anymore. I think it has been taken over by employees or family members. The listings have changed significantly, with fewer pictures, worse pictures, less accurate descriptions and skimpier descriptions. I don't think the ones doing the work have a very good knowledge of knives or how to run an online auction for knives.

It' still has his name on it. And his picture. He is responsible regardless who is doing it, himself, family member, or employee.
