Rehandled SCC Model SC500

Post by Nev52 »

I just picked up this Schrade SC500 to rehandle. I thought it was somewhat unusual :shock: 1st it has a Tang stamp of SCC Then the USA. SC500 under that. 2nd this only the second big Schrade I have seen with the double Swinden key not that it means much because I have only been working on knives a few months. I posted this in the Schrade forum. Maybe someone can date this by the tang stamp. I know it is somewhat old because of the forward nail nick. Just wanted to show the new look.

Nice one. Good work and results. I do like seeing the insides to see how things sit and work. Great looking horn you put on there too. Great work and keep it up, never enough knife mechanics in the world. ::tu:: ::tu::

NICE job Nev!

Isn't that the same frame as the 125OT?

That "SCC" I think stands for "Scrimshaw collection"....

That cover material is beautiful!
Excellent work!

::tu::

EDIT....
OK, a little further reading....LOL....
SCC = Schrade Cutlery Corporation....

BUT.... the "SC500" is the scrimshaw collection model number.
