modded (again) Buck 2 blade jack

Post by glennbad »

This is a 2-blade Buck folder, and I just didn't like the elk covers on it. So I modded it with some stag that I had dyed, and turned the blades to both face the same way. It was decent, but I was never thrilled with the thickness of it. Also, the pattern didn't have a middle spacer, so the blade tangs rubbed in this configuration. SO, I modded it again, LOL. This time I went with some thinner stag that I had dyed, AND made a spacer. The knife has been apart quite a bit, so the bolster holes have been spread out a bit too much to blend them flush anymore. Nevertheless, I think I like it now and will probably carry it more.

Very nice, and much improved imo.

While the current look is very nice, I like the elk handles.

I'd say, it's had a pretty good looking set of covers, it's entire life...but; agree, it's looking at it's best, now!!! ::tu:: ::tu:: ::tu:: ::tu::

A great look! I don't know why it can be so satisfying to replace scales and change a blade configuration, but it certainly can feel great, especially when done this well!!!

That's about the coolest looking Buck of that pattern I've ever seen, all thanks to the stag and making the spacer and moving the blades looks factory. Another Glenngreat and that's a Buck I'd carry any day. Rocked it again Glenn. Wow you transform these babies. Hat's off.
