Case Russlock rescale

Post by Tony_Wood »

Green is out! For this knife anyway. Still practicing replacing covers when I get a needy candidate. This one qualified with missing shield, beater condition, and luck of the Irish green.

Amazing how dirty a knife can be between the layer.

Out with the old, jig in the new.

Jigged, dyed, and installed.

You repair guys know the process, and I am open to suggestions from all. The in process pics of other threads is what motivated me to try this...thus I post.

The first picture looked like the pickle ornament you would put on the Christmas Tree. But the after pictures really look good. Excellent job as always. No space seen and beautiful scales. ::tu:: ::tu::

Tony:

The entire knife looks fantastic. It seems like everytime you post a re-handle job, your skills increase, as well they should. I think you did a great job on that knife. And thank you for the before/after photos. When we can see those pictures, it gives us a better sense of all you had to go through to get that knife to it's new state that it is today. I especially like the jigging pattern and the color. Well done Sir. ::tu::

Thanks all, for the compliments. Stag is my favorite, but wanted to try jigging bone as well. Still working at improving the dye job. Any insight would be appreciated.
