TL-29 Wharncliffe Conversion

Post by ea42 »

OK, I should have this in the right place now ::dang::
Just finished up a TL-29 conversion for a fellow member here. Re-handled in green camel bone, moved the lock to the spear blade and modified the tang of that blade to match the lock, then converted the screwdriver to a wharncliffe blade. Initally I just shaped it, but I wasn't crazy about the chunky look with that saber grind so I flat ground the whole thing. Here it is:

Here's a before and after shot of the blade:

Speechless ..... stunning conversion / custom ... I have never 'seen' that screwdriver as a wharncliffe before
But lay it out like that and its obvious. ::tu:: ::tu:: ::tu::

Best TL-29 mod I have ever seen. Great job on the wharnie...good call on the flat grind, it's perfect. Looks like you had to re-work the nail pull as well...and it looks factory done...amazing.

That conversion is very well done. It almost appears to be a completely different knife. I have 2 Camillus TL-29's in excellent working order and they don't look anything like that. My word...

Thanks for the compliments everyone, I really appreciate it!! It's fun working on those knives, they're robust enough to really tinker around with.
