Queen Ruple mod
Queen Ruple mod
Here's a pattern I've never worked on before. The customer liked the knife, but was bored of the horn handles. I suggested, what else, some nice stag. Here's what we came up with.

Glenn,
That's a great lookin' replacement! Now I've got to find out about a Queen Ruple. New to me, looks to be a trapper, maybe?

edit: Now I know, Bill Ruple, knifemaker.

Sweet Stag, Glenn. Beautiful mod.
Curious about that shield. There's been some comments about that particular shield here on AAPK and it's definitely one of the more 'intriguing' shield shapes, for sure. (Not to be crude, but, to me it looks like a chess piece with testicles)

Glen what a fine job and the Stag is some of the best i have seen for a long while, the bark going right to the bolsters and caps. Most of the new Stag handled knives i see have white at both ends with some bark in the middle.

I think the shield is referred to as a "bollocks" shield. Beyond that, don't really know what it is supposed to represent.QTCut5 wrote:Sweet Stag, Glenn. Beautiful mod.

I think this is similar to the Case-Bose collaborations. The maker has a design, and collaborates with a manufacturer.treefarmer wrote:Glenn,

Yes but it is not as much of a 'step up' from the regular production as is the Case/Bose collaboration.

But a 'good' Queen is a very good knife.
