It's official! New USA Schatt & Morgan's are coming this winter!

Schatt & Morgan knives were first manufacturer back in 1890. The Queen Cutlery company made most of the more recent examples, but Schatt had its own plant in its earlier years that cranked out the oldies. There is no shortage of fantastic Schatt & Morgan knives in existance that have been made over the brand's long & storied history.

I have not seen any information about a website. I would imagine that they would need a definite release date before they could get their website up and running. :)

Since I don't do social media other than my hobby sites if anyone gets a website link please post, thanks. With GEC knives getting harder and harder to get from dealers we need another quality USA made knife, I hope they can do it.

Thanks for the link Rick! ::handshake:: Those new S&M look pretty nice. Especially that first Barlow. Love the color of the bone scales on it! :shock: Hope I can afford to buy one of their knives when they become available. Have to wait and see what they cost & if it is even possible to become one. ::hmm::

Anyways, thanks Buddy! ::handshake:: :D

queencutleryhistory.com has published the exclusive story of of Cooper Cutlery and the long-awaited rebirth of Schatt & Morgan and other venerable knife brands. Based upon conversations with Gilbert Cooper we're now able to share plenty of details, accompanied with lots of knife photos. It's all up front on the home page.

You're welcome Tom. I'm not sure yet if I'll try to get one or not. Might wait for some feedback first.

I'm confused about them using the Queen City name, the article mentions they already made a small run of Barlow stamped Queen City, Winchester OH and SMKW is selling Queen City knives made in China. I know a lot of companies have manufactured knives in different countries for years but with this being a new start up I'm curious.

I'm not the sharpest tool in the tool box. ::dang:: But my read on it is, the new releases under the Schatt&Morgan name will all be made in America. The first releases being a teardrop balloon jack folder and a selection of fixed blades. But don't hold me to account on the releases, that is just my read on it. But the S&M's will be made in USA. :)

After reading the article again, I misread it and I think I understand my question now. It looks like Gilbert is focusing mainly on S&M and he sold the Queen City rights to SMKW and that's why they are selling Queen City knives made in China.

So the Queen City Winchester OH stamped Barlow was made before Gilbert sold the Queen City name to SMKW?

My bad. I see it now. One must read very carefully. ::facepalm::
