New Forum Just for Schatt & Morgan

Schatt & Morgan knives were first manufacturer back in 1890. The Queen Cutlery company made most of the more recent examples, but Schatt had its own plant in its earlier years that cranked out the oldies. There is no shortage of fantastic Schatt & Morgan knives in existance that have been made over the brand's long & storied history.

The 1991 Series I #51 is one of the best made (and best looking) knives in my entire Mini-T collection. ::nod::
According to information I have (I don't recall where I got it) the Mini-Trappers made were:

042151 Mini Trapper 2000
Brown Bone

042151 Mini Trapper 2001
Red Bone

#032151 Mini Trapper 2002
Stag

#042151 Mini Trapper 2005 or 2006?
Boysenberry
Burgundy
Mahagony

#022151 Mini Trapper
Smooth Brown
Of course you are correct, jerryd (as always). You'd think I would've known that since I actually own some of the other Keystone Series Mini Trappers. ::doh:: ::dang::
I have not seen some of the #51s you listed (if/when I do you can be sure I'll be first in line to buy them); however, here are the Keystone Series #51s I currently have.

1991 Brown Jigged Bone (x2) 042151
1992 Red (Winterbottom?) Jigged Bone 042151

Picked this swell center whittler up, many moons ago, from Ivoryman. Behind it is a walrus tusk ivory, he carved as well.

OLDE CUTLER wrote: Sat Oct 10, 2020 7:04 pm Great idea for a new dedicated thread. I just picked up my first Schatt & Morgan today at our local flea market for a sawbuck. It is a sleeveboard pattern with bone handles and is 3 9/16" overall closed. Does not look like it has been used much if at all.

Interesting post. I think mine does not qualify as a "stabber" pattern chiefly because it is not a lock back and it does not have the stoutness, the heft, needed for aggressive action. imo.

This one's about my favorite S&M period. First becasue it's a pretty sweet beauty, old, and great bones. Second becasue it was a Q-bombing run target. Blows the mind.

Great photo: looks even better than I remember (hidden deep inside my knife safe). I think it likes living with you, Ivoryman. ::nod::

Ha ha ha, thanks my friend, that's nice of you to say. I can't say how the old baby feels, but I can say I like living with it much better than without. Feels great evertime I see it. Thanks again Bro, you made my knife pile much better.
